Creationists, is Genesis 1:30 biblical proof that evolution is a reality?

Why couldn't have God created earth in its maturity? I understand that the earth may actually be old(er) since "day" may be interpreted as a 24 hour period OR era, but that does not exclude the possibility that Creation could have been six 24 hour periods.
